HISTORY

Disant originated in Aguascalientes, Ags., Mexico in 1989. Miguel and Carlos Velasco Azco wanted to offer the public rustic furniture and accessories of great quality.

As time passed, they realized the importance of developing their own new line of unique furniture. The demand for the rustic style furniture was growing rapidly, for this reason, in October of 1992 Miguel and Carlos opened their own factory. The following year, 1993, a new store was opened in San Miguel de Allende, Gto., Mexico; which is an important site because of its International tourism.

This store served as the source for exporting to Norway. Disant opened its third store in October of 1994 in Reynosa, Tamps., Mexico. All our stores offer our customers a complete concept for a new form of decorating their homes and offices with different models of our unique furniture complemented by beautiful accessories for a total ambiance.

By 1995 the factory had grown tremendously with 100 employees. The Disant furniture is made 65% by hand and the other 35% is done with use of machines, for this reason, you could say this furniture is an artisan product. Each piece of furniture is unique and has a special finish.

In 1996, Disant initiated distribution of their exclusive furniture in Puerto Rico. Also, this same year a store was opened in Denver, Colorado which has been accepted very well in the American market. This store has achieved a very important goal of introducing a product that is 100% Mexican into a difficult market to enter. We are proud this Disant store was recognized as having the "Best Mexican Furniture" in Denver.

Our company received an award in 1996 for first place in National exportation and this was motivation to continue producing quality furniture. Day by day we are inspired to succeed in the future by offering our customers a wide selection of quality products to satisfy their needs.
